Guides work solo and in teams of two to handle rentals starting at 8am and up to four 2-hour tours daily (most often leading 1 or 2 tours per shift). Occasional SUP beginner lessons and other specialty tours also offered depending on Guides' experience and qualifications.
Beginner kayakers SUPers welcome to apply if willing to continue developing paddle skill on the job.
Environmental/marine/eco education experience preferred, but hands on training, continuing education, and perpetual learning is part of the job! Group management and people skills are required to be successful in this role.
Shifts are 7:45am to 2pm, 4pm, or 6pm depending on schedule for the day, occasional night trips (6:30-9:30) with advance notice. At this time we need to hire a team member with Mon-Friday availability, weekends off.
Must be able to lift 50lbs, carry kayaks and equipment, tolerate long, hot, sometimes buggy days in the sun and display utmost respect for island flora and fauna of all kinds, both cute and scaly.
Pay starts at $15/hour plus $2/shift to cover island tolls.
Gratuity is never guaranteed but often plentiful for both friendly rental accommodations and well led tours.
