FLEET & DIESEL MECHANIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Troubleshoots malfunctioning engines, diagnoses problem, and effects needed repairs on all fleet assets.
Performs regularly scheduled safety inspections on vehicles.
Performs computer diagnostics on engines, transmissions and ABS systems.
Performs preventive maintenance checks as scheduled.
Disassembles and overhauls engines to include transmissions, differentials and suspension components.
Advises material management inventory of frequently used parts and supplies.
Identify and request parts and supplies.
Maintains tools and equipment.
Maintains shop and garage area.
Maintains various activity logs and records.
May take readings at gasoline pumps and tanks.
May pick up and deliver parts to fleet vehicles in the field.
All other Duties as assigned.
Preforms work in compliance with established safety procedures, meeting or exceeding industry and manufacturer estimated work times.
Company mechanic must also be able to drive any vehicle in the fleet and be available for on-call status as needed.
Qualifications:
Company Fleet Mechanic
Three (3) years of experience in performing repair and maintenance of light, medium, and heavy-duty trucks.
-Additional vocational/technical training or ASE certification is desirable.
Any combination of education, training, and experience provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job
