Golf Cart Mechanic

Job Summary: As a full-time golf cart mechanic, you will maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electric golf carts using the company van and trailer for mobile service in the Lee County area or the shop.

Responsibilities:

Driving a motorized gas vehicle with a trailer in a safe operating manner.

Driving an electric vehicle on and off the trailer safely.

Diagnose electrical and mechanical issues.

Repair and maintain golf carts using hand tools and electrical testing devices.

Determining repair type required by reading work orders, talking to cart owner, and test-driving cart.

Replaces defective parts using wrenches, pliers, and screwdrivers.

Rewires electrical systems, repairs, or replaces electrical accessories such as horns or lights.

Tests batteries, performs discharge tests, or replaces batteries.

Lubricates moving parts.

Performs brake jobs and alignments and changes tires.

Performs battery installations.

Installs Bluetooth speakers, underbody lights, windshields, mirrors, lights, and cupholders.

Recover seats.

Perform structural repairs to the body of the cart or seats.

Keep accurate records of parts used, labor, and time on work orders.

Stock work vehicle and prep for service work.

Maintain vehicle and trailer in good working condition.

Perform other duties as assigned.

This position reports to the Store Manager.

Skills:

Mechanical knowledge and two years of experience repairing electric vehicles (Club Car, EZGO, ICON, Yamaha, and others) are required.

Experience keeping track of tools, parts, and labor accurately.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with customers and co-workers.

Experience/familiarity with using a tablet.

Ability to lift 60-80 lb. battery.

Must have a valid driver's license and be clear of violations.

Ability to operate a company vehicle.

Experienced in driving with a trailer with safe operating procedures.

Excellent time management skills.

Able to work independently, with minimal supervision.

Prior electric golf cart experience of at least 2-3 years of experience

Qualifications:

At least two years of experience repairing/diagnosing electric and gas vehicles.

Must have clear MVR with a good driving record.

Good work history.

Must have own tools.

Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions.

Must show proof of legal right to work in the United States.

Rate of pay: $22.00-26.00 per hour, paid weekly. Pay is commensurate with experience.

There is a pay increase once the 90-day probationary period has been met.

Group plan health insurance is available.

This is a 40-hour work week, M-F, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Opportunities for overtime may be available.
