Compensation: $80,000 - $90,000 Annual Salary Based on Experience

Position Summary:

The Lead Equipment Mechanic will be responsible for all equipment repair, preventive maintenance, maintaining the shop, managing parts and equipment inventories and fabrications as needed. Repair and preventive maintenance will be on all turf equipment, maintenance vehicles and golf carts. The Lead Equipment Mechanic will perform repairs and maintenance and ensure optimal equipment performance to support the team in maintaining the golf course to the highest standards.

Responsibilities Include:

Inspect, maintain, diagnose and promptly repair all equipment, vehicles and carts.

Develop, based on manufacturing recommendations and usage a preventive maintenance program and perform preventive maintenance and maintain accurate and current preventive maintenance records.

Establish and adjust daily, weekly and monthly repair and maintenance schedules based on equipment requirements and course agronomic schedule.

Perform fabrications as needed, including any cutting, folding, casting, forging, machining, shearing, punching, stamping or welding.

Know and ensure all health, safety and environmental regulations are understood and practiced, including proper disposal of waste oils, tires, etc.

Establish and maintain complete set of records for equipment and parts inventory, purchases, equipment conditions, repairs and costs of repairs and preventive maintenance for all equipment.

Establish and maintain an organized, clean and safe shop.

Performs daily course checks to ensure cut quality and proper operation of equipment.

Manage the equipment budget, monitoring cost and expenditures and identifying variances and recommending and implementing corrective action as necessary.

Assist in the evaluation, selection and purchasing/leasing new turf and/or landscape equipment.

Train and educate the team in the proper and safe use and care of equipment, demonstrating team on operation and proper maintenance, including lubrication, servicing, and minor repairs of all equipment, vehicles and carts.

Qualifications (Skills, Abilities and Knowledge):

Knowledge of turf and landscape equipment, including cutting equipment, understanding of hydraulics and electricals systems and combustion engines.

Experience or familiarity on a variety of turf equipment, such as John Deere and Toro equipment.

Ability to fabricate including cutting, folding, casting, forging, machining, shearing, punching, stamping or welding.

Ability to read and follow manuals, understand preventive maintenance requirements and schedules and repair equipment.

Know and have the ability to utilize various trade tools and the safety guidelines of their use.

Ability to utilize computers for purchase order systems and a familiarity of Excel, Word and Power Point.

Trade school, certification or education in mechanical, electrical, related programs or equivalent experience.
