Summary:  The EH&S Specialist is responsible for developing, implementing, coordinating and monitoring employee safety programs aimed at prevention and early intervention. Areas of responsibility include making sure plant floor safety practices are followed, ensuring plant cleanliness standards are maintained and safety documentation is kept current. Maintain reporting and recordkeeping requirements for all EPA, OSHA and DOT regulatory requirements.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Make recommendations for improved accident and loss prevention.Ensure compliance with DOT, EPA, OSHA.Enhance/improve the welfare of employees and the organization through education, behavioral change, cultural support and the continual process of safety improvement.Conduct/facilitate training seminars in order to provide employees with information regarding safe working practices and accident prevention methods.Prepare and review investigation reports and take appropriate actions; develop strategies to prevent future recurrences.Perform safety audits on all machinery as instructed by management.Maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS).Inspects, monitors, and performs routine maintenance on wastewater pretreatment system.
