Across our portfolio of live event venues and corporate offices, we are seeking a DOF at the Broward County Convention Center. The Director of Finance is responsible for managing the financial health of overseeing all financial operations, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis. This role involves developing financial strategies, managing the finance team, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. The Director of Finance will collaborate with senior management to drive financial performance and support the company’s strategic goals. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with ASM's policies and applicable laws. These responsibilities and tasks are coordinated with the General manager, as well as ASM’s Regional Director of Finance.Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assists in the development and implementation of facility goals and priorities relating to financial management, budget, accounting, purchasing, and/or payroll in compliance with State and Federal law, and ASM Global policies and procedures.
Monitors ASM Global compliance with all provisions of the management contract.
Maintains contact with ASM Global’s Risk Management Department and Insurance broker for coordination of appropriate coverage.
Reviews all contracts for client, events, subcontractors, food and beverage or concessionaires.
Reviews and/or prepares event settlements.
Reviews and executes all checks and deposits, reviews daily cash receipts and disbursements.
Monitors and projects daily cash flow; invests excess cash as needed.
Reviews all purchasing of capital assets, office supplies and facility supplies.
Develop and implement all financial reporting, including:Prepares financial statements for the Client and ASM Global Corporate, and other financial reports, including monthly statements, Annual Budget, and Annual Report.
Directs the installation and maintenance of accounting records to show receipts and expenditures.
Directs the maintenance of general and subsidiary ledgers, accounts receivable, revenue distribution, depreciation, cost, property, and operating expenses, and insurance records.
Analyzes financial performance and cost analyses for all departments; prepares monthly financial statements, recommends appropriate actions/changes to meet business goals.
Prepares statements and reports of estimated future costs and revenues.
Directs internal audits involving review of accounting and administrative controls.
Coordinates preparation of Client or external audit materials and financial reporting; implements recommendations of Client as requested.
Coordinates year-end report of fiscal performance for the General Manager's report.
Directs the installation and maintenance of any new accounting, timekeeping, payroll, inventory, property, and other related procedures and controls.

Reviews financial statements with management personnel.
Participates in union labor contract administration; maintains effective working relationship with union representatives.
Acts as Manager on Duty as required.

Regional Responsibilities
Business Partnering and Business Performance: Creation and embracing the culture of business partnering by working with the RVPs, the Regional and DOFs within the business unit/region, together with RVPs jointly responsible for achieving optimal operating performance without losing sight of all measured KPI’s. Review financial performance of each venue within the region, analysis of variances, forecasts, and budgets. Challenge existing strategies and/or recommend alternate strategies to continually improve effectiveness of the business or financial management. Highlight potential operating opportunities and weaknesses with SVP Finance and RVPs.
Functional leadership: As a functional leader of the region, own the process of sourcing, hiring, and selecting Finance talent across the venues by partnering with venue GMs and relevant HR business partners. Constantly identify high potential talent for future movements. Engage in succession planning discussion on DOFs with SVP Finance and RVPs. Plan and co-ordinate coverage at venues (vacancies or new venue openings). Accounting and Balance Sheet oversight: Has a fiduciary responsibility of the overall accounting within the region. Establish a timely review schedule of balance sheet review to ensure proper accounting are being followed in conjunction of GAAP, ASM requirement and Client requirement. This role should complete Balance Sheet review of his/her venues at least twice a year and manage any remediation/action plan thereafter post review and report out to SVP Finance.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with all policies and applicable laws.
Supervise Finance staff to meet the expectations of the Finance department.
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; scheduling; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees.

Education and/or Experience
B.S. in Accounting or Finance from a four-year college or university5 to 7 years’ experience in public accounting and/or financial management at a supervisory level or as department head
Food & Beverage experience highly desirable.
Skills and Abilities
Extensive knowledge of general and cost accounting
Excellent math skills; high aptitude for figures
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and organizational ability.
Ability to work with and maintain highly confidential information required.
Effective supervisory skills.
Extensive knowledge of accounting spreadsheets and word processing software.
Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet strict deadlines.
Ability to work under minimal supervision.
Ability to work flexible hours in addition to normal business hour.
Must have professional attitude and appearance.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
CPA is preferred.
Computer Skills
Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Outlook.
Advanced knowledge and experience with spreadsheets.
Experience with commercial accounting software.
