STUDENT SERVICES COORDINATOROverview : The Student Services Coordinator provides quality programs and services that facilitate access, and foster academic, career and personal success for all students. The Student Services Coordinator supports the Director of Student Services.Business Contribution : The Student Services Coordinator position supports the Student Services function by providing a broad range of student activities and that promote student engagement and professional development.Student Services Coordinator accomplish this through :Offers placement assistance and career development to students and graduatesCoordinates and facilitates student activitiesProvides excellent customer service to students and handles requests in a timely mannerDevelops and maintains employer relationshipsMaintains accurate records and documentationEssential Functions :Offers placement assistance and career development to students and graduatesTeaches students skills in resume writingAssists students with job searches and job search strategiesPrepares students for interviews with interviewing techniquesProvide job leads and maintains job bulletin boardInforms students of job fairs and local recruitment effortsCoordinates and facilitates student activitiesCoordinates and facilitates Student Government Association and / or Phi Theta KappaAssists other student organizations in housing minutes, rosters, recordsAssist in the coordination of the graduation ceremoniesParticipate in community and civic eventsResponsible for monthly student newsletter and all other student communicationProvides excellent customer service to students and handles their requestsCommunicates to students in a professional manner via telephone, email or in personFulfills students requests for degree shipments, IDs, and all other student services inquiresDevelops and maintains employer relationshipsProvides placement assistance to employersAssist employers with resume referralsAdminister job ordersMaintains accurate records and documentationManages student databasesAdminister and log graduate surveys and alumni update formsMaintains accurate records on graduatesEnsure graduates have completed all the necessary documentation and are cleared of all obligationsAssist the Student Services Director as requestedCreation and upkeep of non-placement related bulletin boards on campusRoutinely take pictures of campus events and students in the classroomServing students lunch occasionallyEscorting students to appropriate staff offices as neededKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesTo be able to assist the Director with knowledge, skills and abilities as follow :Proficient with Microsoft Office XP : Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OutlookKnowledge of office practices and procedures and excellent communication skillsKnowledge of data collection and reporting methodsSkill in the use of office equipment including PCs and appropriate Microsoft software (as indicated above)Ability to understand and apply rules, regulations, policies and proceduresSkill in providing a high level of customer service to students, graduates, and employersAbility to network effectively in the community with employers and key community membersAbility to present information effectively in front of groupsAbility to plan and organize work assignmentsAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, graduates, staff, faculty, and employers in the communitySupervisory ResponsibilitiesThe Student Services Coordinator does not have any supervisory responsibilities within the department.Working ConditionsThe working conditions for the Student Services Coordinator position are primarily in an indoor office environment.
