We are a Montessori school in Gainesville, Fl looking for a Primary Assistant (ages 3-6.) 35+ hours per week.
Daily schedule 7:45 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
Experience preferred, however we are willing to train. Our school and staff provide support to each other and to all of our family members. The "right fit" is essential in preserving our mission and philosophy. The attributes and expectations for this position:
1 ) punctuality
2) a warm and nurturing presence in the classroom
3) a quiet presence in the classroom (Montessori best practices)
4) a strong intuition as to what the lead teacher's needs might be as well as the children's needs during our learning cycle (this can be learned over a reasonable period of time.)
5) an openness to learning scientific methods for learning and behavior modification.
Duties include:
morning care
classroom hours
light cleaning
standard support for children
Requirements:
DCF child care training (45 hours)
Pay is based on experience.
We are also looking for substitute teachers and aftercare teachers.
