Responsibilities:
The incumbent assigned to this position is responsible for, but not limited to the following:
Ensure tasks are completed within the specified due date and keep work orders flowing smoothly. Work may require bending, squatting or standing for extended periods of time and may require lifting of up to 100 pounds. Responsible for gathering of materials needed for each named job such as skill saws, drills, table saws, band saws and other carpentry tools.
Designs and constructs custom wood cabinets, beds, headboards, footboards, dressers, wardrobes, dining room tables and chairs, entertainment center, nightstands and chest of drawers.
Maintain wood working equipment used in the Cabinet shop, changing belts, oil machinery, and minor repairs. Ability to operate hand and power tools.
Ensures materials are ready and available for each job such as skills saws, drill table saws, band saws, and other carpentry tools.
This position also assists with relocation of residents’ belongings as needed, and movement of any furniture/equipment at Tacachale. Perform other related duties as required or requested by supervisor.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities, including utilization of equipment, required for the position:
Knowledge and ability to use power tools.
Knowledge of building maintenance and repair.
Ability to follow written and oral instructions.

Minimum Requirements:
A valid Florida Driver’s License. (If initially hired with an out-of-state license the Florida resident must obtain a valid Florida State driver’s license within 30-days of hire. License suspended or revoked for any reason, work permits (Business purpose/ Employment/ Education only license) and some types of restricted license are not acceptable. License that has “Corrective Lenses Restricted,” are acceptable, provided the driver wears the corrective lenses while operating the vehicle.
This position may be required to perform essential services before, during, and after an emergency per APD OP 2-0035.
This position is critical to the safety and supervision of residents and may require the incumbent to work beyond their normal work schedule to maintain minimum coverage levels in the facility.
