The position is a full-time (1.0 FTE), non-tenured multi-mission track faculty. The SHP Director provides strategic leadership and clinical oversight of SHP services and personnel and develops and implements programmatic policies and procedures that promote student mental health. This position requires a dynamic individual with a strong passion for collegiate health, strategic leadership skills, and a commitment to growing and enhancing SHP operations. The director of SHP will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of comprehensive psychiatric care and consultation services to UF students facing diverse mental health challenges including general mental health disorders, multicultural concerns, trauma, eating disorders, substance abuse and gender/sexual minority issues and will work in partnership with the SHCC leadership to assure that psychiatric services are delivered efficiently and effectively. This position will also contribute to the educational mission by participating in graduate and/or medical education, particularly the teaching of adult fellows, general psychiatry residents, and medical students during rotations and seminar teaching. Applicants must have a M.D. or D.O. degree and be licensed in or eligible for licensure in the State of Florida and be board certified/board eligible.

Completed residency in psychiatry.

Possess prior clinical experience in a teaching institution or service

Strong interpersonal communication skills

Strong written communications skills

Preferred Qualifications:

Strong candidates will be motivated physicians with a desire to work in an academic setting

A candidate with a fellowship in Addiction Medicine, Child & Adolescent, or Community Psychiatry

Previous experience in student mental health in a college/university setting

Previous leadership experience
