Test Tech 1 works under close supervision of the test lab manager/ supervisor and a senior lab technician to accomplish the test setups as requested by the engineers.Authorities:Test Technician 1 has the authority to set up tests, request fixtures or instrumentation as needed.Main Function ResponsibilitiesA) Collects and prepares data used to support engineering reports and analysis.B) Assembles, operates, and maintains laboratory testing, measuring, and mechanical equipmentC) Works as part of a team.D) Adjusts and repairs testing, electrical, and mechanical equipment and devices.E) Inspects test equipment for wear and defective parts, using standard inspection practices.F) Prepares notes, sketches, and observations associated with test setup and data collection.G) Attends training seminars related to specific types of test equipment.H) Performs other duties as assigned.Complementary DescriptionPhysical Demands This position requires extended periods of sitting while working with computers and viewing computer monitors and other office equipment. Finger dexterity needed in using misc. office equipment such as telephone, computer and copy machine, etc. Bending, stooping, reaching, and lifting up to approximately twenty pounds are required during tasks related to the jobWork environment: The work environment includes office setting with moderate office noiseJob RequirementsA. Education & Qualification: Must have a high school diploma or equivalent work experience. Training in vocational schools, related on-the-job experience is preferred.B. Work Experience - Technical knowledge 1 year of related experience is preferredC. Professional Skills: Must have general knowledge of electrical theory and background in use of laboratory test and measurement instruments. Must be proficient in all shop math including trigonometry. Must also have good working skills with Microsoft Office and data acquisition software. Must have the ability to generate written communication and to operate required office equipment. Ability to read and review written communication. Speech and hearing abilities that allow individual to communicate clearly and distinctly in English.D. Behavioral Skills: Must be self-motivated and able to perform at a high level of intensity without constant direction. Must be able to adjust to company priorities and changes.D. Desirable Aspects: Experience working in Aerospace testing facility Knowledge of building fixtures Needs to have some experience performing set up for tests.
