The VCOP program is designed to introduce students to the challenges of veterinary practice in both community and shelter environments and give experience in spay and neuter techniques plus preventative medicine of canines and felines.Example of Veterinary Technician Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to: Client Service/Administrative Supporto Entering client/patient information into the electronic medical recordo Entering charges and closing invoiceso Checking patients ino Attaching medical records Hospital and Service Cleanliness and Organizationo Sweeping and mopingo Maintaining inventoryo Processing laundryo Disinfecting and cleaning equipment regularlyo Ensuring cage and runs are cleaned daily Patient Care & Husbandryo Animal restraint for exams, catheter placements, bandage changes, anesthesia, etco Obtain vitals such as TPR and record appropriately in medical recordo Assist with patient intake and dischargeo Assist with recoveryo Document in patient’s medical recordThe service receives Monday - Friday.
