Resident Coffee seeks Head Chef to develop a unique menu for our new flagship cafe in Gainesville.

Location: Gainesville, FL - initially at Wyatt s Coffee, transitioning to Resident Coffee's new flagship cafe in early 2025.

About Us:

Over the last 4 years Resident Coffee has become more than a coffee roastery we are a community of professionals dedicated to showcasing the stories behind incredible coffees. With our flagship cafe set to open in Gainesville, we aim to extend this storytelling through a thoughtfully curated food program that matches the high standards and intentionality of our nationally recognized coffee.

Overview:

Our new flagship cafe will feature a full kitchen and coffee bar within a spacious 3,500-square-foot setting. We are looking for a visionary Head Chef to lead our food program, incorporating South & Central American influences and prioritizing locally grown ingredients. Our goal is to create dishes that not only complement our coffee but also reflect our commitment to quality.

This is a full time role that will require you to work Saturday and Sunday.

Key Responsibilities:

Menu Development: Create a dynamic menu that highlights Latino culinary traditions, using locally sourced ingredients and healthier cooking methods.

Transition Period at Wyatt s Coffee: Begin your journey at Wyatt s Coffee, our established cafe, to develop initial menu items and prep while the flagship cafe is being built. This incubation period allows for hands-on involvement in equipment design/placement and team/recipe development.

Quality Control: Maintain high standards of food quality and presentation, ensuring every dish aligns with our mission of excellence.

Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the kitchen team, fostering a collaborative and creative environment.

Sourcing: Establish relationships with local farmers and suppliers to source fresh, sustainable ingredients.

Health and Safety: Ensure all kitchen operations comply with health and safety regulations.

Qualifications:

Proven experience as a food professional, being open to different cultural influences.

Strong understanding of ingredient sourcing, menu development, and kitchen management.

Passion for sustainable and healthy cooking practices.

Excellent leadership and team management skills.

Creativity and vision to develop a unique and compelling menu that complements our coffee offerings.
