Role Description
Currently hiring for a full-time hands-on Assistant Superintendent, the perfect person for this job is a team player who thrives in a challenging and fast-paced, yet supported, environment.
Ideal candidates have some existing construction experience but are open to learning from and supporting an experienced team with unlimited opportunity for growth. This position will provide primary support to our field supervision and must demonstrate ownership of assigned tasks, strong communication skills, and use critical thinking to solve issues. Must have the ability to work independently, handle multiple projects at one time while remaining flexible, and work within tight deadlines. Work will often be outside, and punctuality and promptness are required every day. Compensation based on experience.
Primary Responsibilities
Responsible for on-site activities/ownership
Material verification/coordination
In-House installation & Punch list
Quality/cleanliness ownership
Coordination with trades/Subcontractors
Updating Project Supervision, both Field and Office, with progress and challenges
Qualifications
Provide own transportation – Reliable and suitable for transporting materials/tools
Provide basic carpentry tools
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to assist in resolving on-site issues – Know when to escalate decisions and/or utilize team for support
Excellent communication skills – Verbal and Text
Technology use and implementation (iPad & OneNote)
Ability to manage material deliveries and inventories
Working knowledge of various construction disciplines, materials and sequencing
Knowledge of construction quality standards and practices
Ability to rotate from multiple job sites/day based on schedule and priorities
Comfortable with daily scope coordination and inspection of installed work
Thrive in a small high-functioning team and family-oriented environment
High School diploma or GED; additional certification is an asset
