Join our world-class team today!Position Specific DescriptionOur Smart Grid Department is looking for a Sr Fiber Field Operations Technician to join their team in Hollywood, FL.The selected candidate for this role will: Monitor and ensure fiber network equipment quality and reliability. Assist in 24/7 operations and respond to network outages as needed. Deploy new network equipment and maintain existing equipment. Test fibers, troubleshoot equipment, and report to network team with recommendations.We truly have the best team in the business. Apply today to be a part of it!Job OverviewThis individual is expected to work both independently and with contractors for construction, operations, and maintenance of fiber-optic communications network. Individual will need to oversee contracted crews and other support personnel to achieve safe, reliable, and compliant construction, operations, and maintenance of fiber optic communication network. This network includes OSP and ISP field network electronics facilities within a designated geographic area.Job Duties & Responsibilities

Oversee contractor and telecom electronic equipment installations and turn ups

Respond to all network outages, impairments, and emergencies in assigned area

Perform advanced analysis and troubleshooting of issues while assisting the NOC and customers

Overseas fiber cut restorations leading isolation of cut and directing contractor on needed work to be performed

Complete all required preventative maintenance inspections to FPL standards

Work with fiber optic and Ethernet related test equipment including Network Tester, OTDR, Optical Power Meter, Optical Fiber Identifier, Optical Scope, Multimeter and DIA tester

Perform both hardware and software updates and/or changes to remote site equipment as necessary

Promotes activities for protecting the safety of employees, equipment, and the general public

Participate in on-call rotation schedule for nights and weekend coverage

Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Associate's or Equivalent Experience

Experience: 5+ years

Valid Driver's License (NON CDL)

Preferred Qualifications

Associate's Degree
