POSITION OVERVIEW
KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools seeks a high school geometry teacher.This role is available at KIPP Bold City High School (1440 McDuff Avenue North)Teachers will be responsible for at least one subject area and are responsible for creating a positive classroom environment, implementing curriculum, assessing students, collaborating with their team, building relationships with families, and other duties as assigned. Full teacher responsibilities are ultimately outlined by their school leader.
KIPP Bold City's vision is to be a high school built on student voice and choice. Bold City offers a variety of options for its students- including honors classes, Advanced Placement classes for all, and career/technical education. Classes are chosen based on student and family interest. As the school grows, we seek to add more career tracks as well as Dual Enrollment. We also offer a variety of extracurriculars and sports to students. We seek teachers that are aligned to our philosophies around student voice and choice and are flexible to meet the interest areas of students.
OUR CURRENT MODELThe model is subject to change. Core content areas at the high school level include science, history, ELA, and math. High school lead teachers will likely have a homeroom class and teach several classes in their subject area. While this is a typical teaching load, some teaching loads may vary. COMPENSATION AND BENEFITSOur current starting salary for a first-year lead teacher is $50,000Access to individual health benefits (including medical, dental, and vision)Access to individual short-term and long-term disability insurance403(b) retirement program with a company matchTo support teacher practice and their growth, all lead teachers receive individualized coaching and professional development.The salary offered in the DocuSign doesn’t include any stipends for which the candidate may be eligible. In our current year of paying out millage stipends, certified New-to-KIPP instructional staff received a historical average of $13,000 with the addition of receiving TSIA stipends. There are other opportunities to earn money at KIPP Jax in the form of additional stipends. This role will only be eligible for instructional stipends if they have their FLDOE certification.This offering is subject to change each school year.
