This role will report to the GPS Expense and Accounts Payable Lead - Assistant DirectorThe opportunity:In this role, you’ll be responsible for day-to-day operations of GPS accounts payable and expense audits, and ensuring adherence to policies, applicable law and regulations, procedures, and internal controls.Your key responsibilities:Expense responsibilities:

Audit and evaluate expense reports to identify transactional errors, discrepancies with receipts, ensure compliance with internal policies as well as FAR Part 31, DFARS and CAS

Understand and apply the objectives of firm policies and procedures when analyzing expenses submitted by partners/employees

Identify problems with processes, technology, and/or procedures and escalate, as appropriate

Resolve expense reports issues with general supervision, consistent with established policies and procedures

Effectively prioritize own assignments, follow through on commitments and take ownership for personal and/or team results

Identify issues that may create potential financial exposure and/or risk to the Firm, and escalate accordingly

Support internal and regulatory audits

Assist in developing and implementing procedures and job aids related to Expense module

Reconcile firm credit cards

Accounts Payable responsibilities:

Manage Accounts Payable and/or Expense mailbox(es)

Prepare PO and non-PO Accounts Payable vouchers. Review non-PO voucher payment requests for adherence to GPS policy thresholds.

Reconcile subcontractor invoices to timesheets, resolve any discrepancies

Enter and upload invoices into AP Workflow

Submit AP vouchers and processed expense reports to AP Sr Associate for review and posting

Save proper backup documentation and receipts on internal network

Assist in developing and implementing procedures and job aids related to Accounts Payable module

Ensure all invoices and reimbursements are on time and in accordance with policies and procedures

Support internal and regulatory audits

Ensure all invoices and reimbursements are on time and in accordance with policies and procedures

Escalate complex vendor/expense report issues to Senior Associate

Select vouchers for weekly check run/ ACH

Understand GPS financial architecture and ensure proper charging of projects, accounts, and organizations.

Skills and attributes for success

Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and written, with individuals inside and outside of EY

Ability to work with a diverse and geographically distributed team

To qualify for the role, you must have

A Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent experience

Approximately 1 – 3 + years of relevant accounting / finance experience ideally in a government contracting environment, ideally AP and Deltek expense experience

The ability to obtain a security clearance

Ideally you will also have:

Experience using Deltek Costpoint

Experience in participating in system design sessions around accounts payable

What we offerWe offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The salary range for this job in most geographic locations in the US is $50,000 to $88,000. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $60,000 to $100,000. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options. Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances.
