The Emergency Response Officer will provide assistance during acts of violence, crisis, and other incidents. Emergency Response Officers will assist by providing first aid, conducting evacuation, and engaging threatening individuals.This is a pre-deployment list for personnel interested in being contacted for a position on the AUS storm response team. This job posting is not for immediate employment. Work hours and schedules will be available after a storm makes landfall in the Florida Region. (Must be qualified to receive)Must be able to work 12 to 14 hour shifts up to 14 daysMust have two forms of Government issued identification and be at least 18 years of ageQUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
Identify and respond to emergencies including in-progress acts of violence, crisis, weapons incidents, explosive incidents, natural disasters, and a wide range of issues posing a hazard to lives and/or property using the appropriate escalation of force up to and including armed response by following established protocol.
Conduct surveillance operations
Assist in emergencies by securing the scene to prevent further loss or damage, advise personnel of threats and potential threats, summon emergency responders to the incident, and initiate and conduct evacuation procedures
Render appropriate first aid to injured persons and follow established protocol for reporting injuries
Safeguard and maintain highly sensitive information
Maintain proficiency in the use of all assigned protective equipment, restraint devices, and weapons
Respond to direction and/or orders from supervisory personnel, especially in the context of an active shooter, assault, or other similar situation.
Move from location to location at appropriate speeds
Physically engage with a person who is threatening others
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Formal Education, Licenses, Investigation, and Certifications Required:
Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
