Systems Engineer

Description As a Systems Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and maintaining complex systems infrastructure within our organization. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the seamless operation of our technology stack. This role requires a deep understanding of hardware, software, networking, and security principles to optimize system performance, reliability, and scalability.Responsibilities:

System Design and Architecture: Design, implement, and maintain robust systems architecture to meet the organization's current and future needs. This includes hardware selection, software configuration, and network layout.

Infrastructure Management: Manage and maintain server infrastructure, including physical and virtual servers, storage systems, and networking equipment. Ensure high availability, performance, and security of systems.

Deployment and Automation: Develop and maintain automated deployment processes for software applications and system configurations. Implement tools for configuration management, monitoring, and logging.

Security and Compliance: Implement and enforce security best practices to safeguard systems and data. Stay abreast of emerging threats and vulnerabilities, and take proactive measures to mitigate risks. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.

Troubleshooting and Resolution: Diagnose and resolve system issues promptly to minimize downtime and disruption to business operations. Conduct root cause analysis and implement preventive measures to avoid recurring problems.

Capacity Planning and Scalability: Monitor system performance and capacity utilization to anticipate future requirements. Scale infrastructure resources as needed to accommodate growth and maintain optimal performance.

Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps. Share knowledge and expertise with team members to foster collaboration and continuous improvement.

Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including software developers, network engineers, and cybersecurity specialists. Communicate technical concepts clearly and concisely to non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Master's degree preferred.

Proven experience in systems engineering or a related role, with a minimum of X years of experience.

Proficiency in system administration of Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems.

Strong understanding of networking protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN.

Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware, Hyper-V, or KVM.

Familiarity with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

Hands-on experience with configuration management tools like Puppet, Chef, or Ansible.

Solid grasp of cybersecurity principles and best practices.

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
