Responsibilities:
Tree climbers are responsible for safely climbing and working in trees to perform tasks such as pruning, trimming, and removing branches or entire trees.
Basic qualifications:
Ability to climb, lift, and handle heavy equipment and tree limbs.
Ability to navigate branches and maintain balance at heights.
Proficiency in using ropes, harnesses, and other climbing equipment.
Knowledge of proper pruning methods and safe tree removal practices.
Ability to safely operate chainsaws, chippers, and other tree care equipment.
Understanding and adherence to safety guidelines and protocols to prevent accidents.
Consistent use of PPE such as helmets, gloves, and protective eyewear.
Ability to communicate effectively with team members and clients.
A valid driver’s license is often required, especially for positions that involve traveling to different job sites.
