Jacksonville, FL - Intermodal Chassis Mechanic/ Welder needed to inspect and repair equipment for a growing Shipping Container Depot
Compensation: Pay is based on skills / experience. Employment type: Full-time
Responsibilities will include
Repairs and required preventive maintenance of chassis and containers
Inspect, trouble shoot, diagnose, and perform maintenance on equipment
Perform safety inspections of equipment and prepares safety documents required by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), company and any other Federal, State or Local regulations
Interpret work orders Replace chassis / trailer tires when needed.
Repair, replace, or weld defective parts, components or systems (Tires, Brakes, Wheel Seals. etc)
Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that the work meets manufacturer's specifications and legislated regulations
Fabrication and welding of shipping containers and chassis
Pay is based on skills / experience.
Requirements / Qualifications:
Experience in PMs and repairs Must be able to lift 50lbs
Must own your own tools (Basic set of Hand Tools)
Must have a Valid Driver's License
Chassis/Container Mechanic: 2 plus Years' experience of Trailer repair (Chassis, Containers, etc.) FMCSA, Brake replacement/repair, and tire replacement/ repair experience.
