We are seeking a skilled Welding Supervisor to oversee and lead our welding team during the evening shift. This position requires an experienced leader with a strong background in welding operations and safety standards. The Welding Supervisor will manage the day-to-day operations of the welding department, ensuring that production targets are met while maintaining high quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and have excellent communication and leadership skills.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of welders during the 2nd shift, ensuring that work is completed efficiently and to quality
standards.
- Monitor and enforce adherence to welding procedures, blueprints, and safety guidelines to ensure all welded products
meet company and industry standards.
- Train new welders and provide ongoing coaching to existing staff to enhance skills, improve productivity, and ensure
compliance with safety protocols.
- Collaborate with production managers to meet daily production goals and deadlines. Troubleshoot any issues related to
welding processes or equipment and implement solutions to maintain smooth operations.
- Ensure that all welders follow strict safety protocols, including properly using protective equipment and safely handling
welding materials.
- Ensure all welding equipment is properly maintained and operational. Coordinate maintenance and repair schedules as
needed to minimize downtime.
- Foster a positive and productive work environment, encouraging teamwork, open communication, and continuous
improvement.
- Maintain accurate records of welding activities, production metrics, safety compliance, and personnel performance. -
Provide regular updates to management on shift progress, challenges, and accomplishments.
Qualifications:
-High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree or certifications in welding technology or a related field
preferred.
-5+ years of experience in welding, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
-Strong knowledge of welding techniques, materials, blueprints, and quality standards (e.g., MIG, TIG, Stick welding).
-Familiarity with safety standards and regulations, including OSHA requirements.
-Proven ability to lead a team, prioritize tasks, and make decisions under pressure.
-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
-Ability to lift heavy materials, stand for long periods, and work in various environmental conditions.
