Welder/Fabricator
We are looking for the following position for long term work.
Job Title: Welder/Fabricator
Location: Kings Bay Naval Base
Job Type: Hourly
We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Welder/Fabricator to join our team.
The role requires proficiency in TIG on Stainless Steel Pipe and Coper- Nickle Pipe, with other welding techniques considered beneficial.
We are purging with argon gas and will be using a consumable insert.
There will be 4 weld tests you must pass
1. Socket weld - stainless steel - Tig all the way out - half inch Schedule 40 pipe - will be NDE tested - PT, RT, MT and VT
2. 6g Stainless steel - Tig all the way out - 6" Schedule 80 pipe - Will be NDE tested - PT, RT, MT and VT
3. 6g Coper Inconel Pipe - Tig all the way out - 6" schedule 80 pipe - will be NDE Tested - PT, RT, MT and VT
4. 3G Structural Weld test - Stick - half inch plate - Will be bend tested
Responsibilities:
Read and interpret project plans, blueprints, and other written instructions and diagrams to perform the task at hand.
Follow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean environment.
Verify product dimensional specifications with measuring instruments.
Setup, operate and maintain welding equipment.
Understand the various welding symbols and diagrams and use them in the fabrication process.
Conduct tests to evaluate weld quality and tolerance.
Qualifications:
Certified Welder credential from the American Welding Society (AWS) preferred.
Possess AWS ASME.
Extensive knowledge of TIG welding processes is essential. Knowledge of other welding techniques is beneficial.
Proven experience in a similar role.
Familiarity with safety standards and regulations related to welding and fabrication.
Understanding and application of metallurgical processes.
Ability to handle heavy equipment and materials.
Proficiency in English.
Precision and attention to detail.
Excellent manual dexterity, accuracy, and physical stamina.
Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
