Seeking an experienced HVAC Technician to support operations and maintenance of mechanical systems within a secure federal facility. This position plays a critical role in ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant performance of all HVAC and mechanical infrastructure systems in accordance with contract requirements, agency safety standards, and government regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Perform preventive maintenance, repair, and installation of commercial HVAC systems including hermetic, semi-hermetic, screw, scroll, and centrifugal refrigeration units.
Maintain and service reverse osmosis systems, computer room cooling systems, air compressors, and water treatment systems.
Inspect, diagnose, and repair system components such as compressors, valves, thermostats, sensors, and electronic control devices.
Support and maintain emergency generator and fire suppression systems as part of overall building mechanical operations.
Conduct routine facility inspections, identify deficiencies, and complete necessary repairs in compliance with federal safety and environmental standards.
Prepare accurate cost estimates and work documentation using RS Means software and maintain proper records for government audit readiness.
Ensure full compliance with safety, security, and environmental regulations, including adherence to all site-specific clearance and access protocols.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade certification preferred.
Minimum 2 years of experience with commercial or industrial HVAC systems, building operations, or mechanical maintenance (experience on federal contracts preferred).
Must possess a valid driver’s license and a current HVAC license or certification.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with strong communication and documentation skills.
Ability to pass a Tier 1 background check
Preferred: experience with fire suppression systems, environmental systems (including oil/water separator servicing), and water treatment procedures
