About the Role & TeamIn this role you will act as the buyer of the line for the Non-Disney themed category, working with vendors, planning, and strategy to ensure the highest quality, consumer focused, trend right product lines across all Disney Parks, and responsible for the fiscal results of their category.The Associate Merchandising Manager will report to the Sr Manager, Merchandising.This is a Full-Time position.What You Will Do
Performs the daily implementation of the Non-Disney themed product category for Softlines
Manages the product strategy at the department, class, and sub-class levels
Consumerist: Consumer obsessed, constantly balancing the art and the science of merchandising to find opportunities.
Gain an understanding of the locations they support and existing core development so that they complement vs cannibalize Disney intellectual property assortments.
Monitors and reports on the themed business
Responsible for the sourcing and vendor relationships of the categories they have
Track development counts, COGs, and profitability targets
Responsible for Data integrity in systems and samples if needed
Provide support for key achievement meetings with the development of presentation decks, briefs, recaps, and assembling input from key partners
Attend cross functional team meetings to assist with the input/output of communication
Manages and updates any line lists or assortment plans for each location that they support
Prepare and maintain catalog of merchandise by quarter (photobooks)
Establish perspective on what’s working and why to consistently improve product line
Delivers our diversity and inclusion goals through right product and personal growth
Required Qualifications & Skills
2+ years of experience in Product Merchandising or Brand Management
Experience in building a product line for a category or categories of business
Demonstrated ability to be a brand steward and maintain brand and product integrity
Working knowledge of the omni-channel marketplace (knowledge of global marketplace a plus)
Strategic problem solver with the ability to drive execution against a plan
Confirmed interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with a diverse audience
Successful experience working, and thriving, in a highly matrixed company structure
Collaborative and effective communicator
Must have ability to build & foster collaborative partnerships across functions & departments
Flexible and adaptable with a demonstrated ability to work under pressure while meeting deadlines in a fast paced environment
Solid organizational and time management skills with ability to prioritize workload and concurrently manage multiple projects
High level of attention to detail; proactive, with strong follow through skills
Demonstrated positive attitude with the ability to be adaptable to feedback and pivot based on changing organization priorities
Education
Associate’s Degree or equivalent work experience
