It serves as financial point of contact for assigned business functions, managing and ensuring consistent support in both strategic and regularly recurring decision-making processes and is a Subject Matter Expert (SME) with broad knowledge in the field of financial analysis, responsible for project managing the development and deployment of analytical technology solutions, the output of which drive his or her recommendations. It is also to consult with business partners cross-functionally to provide financial-based recommendations to support strategic decision needs that require financial input. These recommendations are regularly relied upon as a primary input into final decision-making processes for matters of significance, and influence strategic decisions related to the products, services, or offerings to which our customers have access as well as internal efficiencies that result in improved use of Publix resources, ultimately impacting both sales and profitability.Primary Responsibilities
providing Project Support and Planning, including comprehensive analytical consulting to support an assigned business function, in addition to generally providing financial-based insights and recommendations to support strategic decision needs for the RBU senior leadership and across the enterprise executive leadership (as assigned) that require financial input, including developing and supporting corporate financial planning, forecasting, and reporting structures
providing Strategic Consulting to Business Development Directors (BDDs) and Category Managers (CMs), serving as a financial point of contact, consulting and providing financial-based insights and recommendations for assigned business functions, managing and ensuring consistent support in both strategic and regularly recurring decision-making processes, and providing thought leadership, proactively advocating for viewpoints associated with their domain of expertise, while supporting and reinforcing recommendations and standards brought forth from across the Finance function
providing Ad Hoc Analysis, managing analysis & reporting and ad hoc requests to ensure assigned RBU is properly informed when making decisions
developing Analytical Solutions by using technology to streamline and reinvent existing reports, tools and processes, create new reports, tools and models that can be highly trusted by decision makers to deliver insights and to influence final decision making, and enhance the production, delivery and ease of use of analytical products to empower RBUs to obtain more self-service insights
continuous Learning and maintenance and growth of professional skills in finance/accounting, analytical methods and technology

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Analytics, Information Technology, Statistics or another analytical discipline or equivalent with at least 4 years relevant finance, accounting and/or analytical experience in an office environment
Knowledge of Accounting and/or Finance (solid knowledge of accounting principles and exceptional math skills)
Knowledge of analytical techniques, including how to quickly identify and correct logical flaws and/or shortcomings, as well as improve the overall accuracy of the analysis
Knowledge of statistics and quantitative methods
Knowledge of Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) and visual communication tools such as MicroStrategy Developer, Alteryx, Power Query, or similar ETL tool and Power BI, Tableau or similar data visualization tool, respectively

Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Analytics, Information Technology, Statistics or MBA with concentration in Analytics, Accounting or Finance or equivalent with at least 6 years relevant finance, accounting and/or analytical experience in an office environment
Knowledge of other Publix Business Units, including their basic roles and responsibilities and their strategic long-term business needs and operational decision processes
Knowledge of the RBUs, their results and how they influence other departments and overall corporate results
Knowledge of the Publix retail store environment and operations
