GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF CLASSThis is manual work, usually of a repetitive nature. This position requires standing in a designated area, controlling traffic flow, assisting the public with general information and/or assistance, and collecting parking fees.Please note this posting is "Continuous" and can close at ANY TIME WITHOUT NOTICE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Collects parking fees from designated workstations and can handle large sums of money.

Provides general information to the public.

May assist handicapped citizens with parking and unloading.

May be required to work overtime, or alternate hours, as necessary for the efficient operation of the department.

Position designated as Mission Critical by Department Director.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS:

Performs related work as required.

QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE)

None

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Must maintain a valid telephone number.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

Knowledge of general mathematics.

Ability to deal with the public courteously.

Ability to understand and follow oral instructions.

Ability to exercise safety practices that the supervisor in charge prescribes.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Requires labor-intensive work that involves a considerable amount of walking.

The job risks exposure to environmental conditions, including extreme temperature changes, humid, wet conditions, traffic, bright/dim light, fumes/noxious odors, dusts, and pollen.

The job requires normal visual acuity, field of vision, hearing, speaking, color perception, sense of smell, depth perception, and texture perception.
