The General Manager will manage the hotel's overall operation through maintaining established costs and quality standards, maximizing profits, developing and retaining employees and exceeding guest expectations.

Hotel will be going through a massive renovation period, experience handling, multi-tasking, and working with different trades will be beneficial and a plus for this position.

Primary Responsibilities:

Manage all sources of revenue and ensure all departments are profitable and maintain strong working relationships.

Create local marketing plans and pricing strategies and understand market segments.

Be actively involved in all aspect of sales and marketing functions.

He or she needs to promote Company philosophies throughout the hotel to both employees and guests.

Help create the hotel's annual budget and monitor the performance of the hotel throughout the year.

Review monthly financial reports and know at all times where the hotel stands against the budget.

Manage human resource functions of the hotel by controlling turnover, motivating employees, focusing on employee development and retention.

Protect the hotel and its assets through enforcing and maintaining a preventative maintenance program.

Respond quickly to guest requests in a friendly manner. Follow up to ensure guest satisfaction.

Provide a professional image at all times through appearance and dress.

Follow company policies and procedures and be able to effectively communicate them to subordinates.

The major responsibility of this position is to oversee all of the major operations of the hotel departments. Strong leadership and problem-solving skills will be utilized. This person will need to have strong speaking, reading and writing skills for effective communication throughout the hotel.

The majority of time is spent reviewing financial reports and interpreting and analyzing business records/statistical reports. Mathematical skills are needed and include basic math, problem-solving, reasoning, negotiating, budgeting, profit/loss concepts, variances, and percentages are often used.

Must have at least 5 years prior hotel management experience.
