ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Overview
Packaging team leader will work under the guidance of Plant supervision to ensure the packaging department is working to meet desired production levels. This task will be directly responsible for staging all required work for all the packaging tables. This role will also need to communicate daily with production, management, and shipping to ensure efficient product flow thru the facility.
Key functions
Communicate Directly with plant supervision and shop floor personnel
Ensure a safe and productive work environment
Maintain healthy backlog of staged jobs for the employees to process
Ensure Quality standards are followed
Ensure orders are completed accurately and on time
Assist management with problem resolution
Lead the Packaging department in maximizing opportunity
Detailed daily job duties
1. Work with plant management to develop a job priorities backlog
2. Locate and pre-stage orders to be produced
3. Acquire and/or print all required job documentation such as pre-price tags, bag label, box labels…etc
4. Transfer completed kits to tables as required to maintain smooth product flow with a sense of urgency
5. Transfer and communicate completed jobs with the Shipping department
6. Communicate daily results with plant management as required
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
High School diploma / GED
1 yr production experience
3 months leadership experience
Basic Computer skills
PREFERRED SKILLS
Microsoft office suite experience
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong sense of self-motivation
Strong focus on results
Bi-lingual (English / Spanish)
