Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused Crane Operator to join our civil construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating various types of cranes to lift, move, position, and place materials and equipment on construction sites. Applicants must hold a valid NCCCO certification and have prior experience in civil or heavy construction environments.
Responsibilities:
Operate mobile and/or fixed cranes safely and efficiently in accordance with NCCCO standards and site safety protocols.
Inspect cranes and rigging daily to ensure equipment is in safe working condition.
Work closely with riggers, signalpersons, and ground crews to coordinate lifts.
Read and interpret lift plans, load charts, and blueprints.
Monitor load weights, balance, and boom angles to ensure safe operations.
Perform basic maintenance and report any mechanical issues promptly.
Adhere to all OSHA, company, and site-specific safety regulations.
Assist with other construction-related tasks as needed when not operating equipment.
Qualifications:
Valid NCCCO Crane Operator Certification.
Minimum 5 years of experience operating cranes in civil, heavy highway, or infrastructure projects.
Proven knowledge of crane load charts, rigging techniques, and safety procedures.
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and terrain.
Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred but not required.
Must be eligible to work in the United States
Must have reliable transportation to the job site
Must be able to perform job duties that require standing, crouching, twisting upper body, working at heights, and lifting up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
Position requires the use of PPE, including: Steel-Toe work boots, safety vest, hard hat, safety glasses, and gloves
Drug screen required
Preferred Experience:
Experience with bridge work, foundation drilling, utility installation, or concrete structures.
Familiarity with hydraulic truck cranes, lattice boom crawlers, or tower cranes.
