Growing Lakeland, FL asset-based logistics company is looking to add-on a Logistics Specialist position. This candidate will report directly to the Operations Manager.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
Negotiate with carriers through posted trucks / carrier history / cold calling.
Develop carrier relationships and contacts with multiple carriers.
Develop transactional relationships into repeat carriers.
Schedule PU / DEL appts
Track & trace loads (loaded/empty times, PU# information, etc.)
Troubleshoot issues that arise with customers, drivers and carriers.
Special projects / tasks as they are assigned.
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED
Associate's degree or 2 years college preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word & Excel
Must be able to manage a high volume of emails & calls from drivers, dispatchers, CSRs & managers
Previous experience in transportation / logistics preferred
