MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have basic computer skills

Must possess customer service skills and interpersonal skills

Must be willing to work holidays and weekends

Must be able communicate effectively in English: Reading, writing, speaking and understanding

Must Successfully complete a Level II criminal background screening to include, but not limited to finger printing and drug test

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience with therapeutic recreation programs/activities programs

Experience working in a long-term care facility

Experience working with large and small groups

Note: you will be required to provide your Social Security number in order to conduct the Level II background screening.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Leads therapeutic recreation programs as designed and scheduled by Activity Director.

Provides recreation, as assigned, in the mornings, afternoons, evenings, and on weekends in the areas of (but not limited to) exercise, art, music, sports, social, cognitive, sensory and entertainment.

Provides individual activities to room-bound residents as assigned.

Sorts and delivers residents’ mail in a timely manner.

Assist Activity Coordinator with certain programs by co-leading or co-designing programs.

Invite and assist residents to and from activity groups.

Complete 1:1 log sheets and attendance records accurately and in a timely manner.

Assists in preparing monthly calendar and newsletter as needed.

Provide care for facility animals as part of pet therapy program as assigned.

Participate in all activity training and follow directives in regards to program goals.

Provide input to Activity Director to assist in the development of programming.

Perform other related duties as assigned to include bending, sitting, standing for extended periods of time in the performance of activity related tasks, i.e. Decorating, cleaning up, transporting wheelchairs, clerical work, etc.

This is an OPS (Temporary) position.
