This position will report directly to the Minerals Operation Fleet Coordinator at our Maxville, FL location.The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

Inspecting bulldozers, excavators, cranes, graders, and other heavy equip ment for proper performance, and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions.

Diagnoses, services, and repairs various systems that are found on pieces of heavy equipment such as mechanical and computer electronic controls, air brake systems, transmissions, computer-controlled automatic and 13 speed manual transmissions, high voltage generators, and pneumatic systems.

Diagnoses problems, disassembles units, repairs, or replaces parts, and reassembles units in the

following systems: brake, cooling, drive, electrical, exhaust and emission control, heating, and air

conditioning, hydraulic, air, and steering and suspension.

Inspects and repairs vehicles and/or heavy equipment with diesel engines.

Service attachments and working tools such as blades, ploughs, winches, and side booms.

Repairs and services track drive sprockets, rails, idler wheels, hard bars, track adjusters, hydraulic

reversers, final drives, brake bands, steering clutches, and hydrostatic transmissions.

Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, transmissions, engines, and other parts of heavy equipment.

Performing routine maintenance checks on heavy equipment to minimize potential failures.

Interpreting technical manuals and drawings to execute repairs and enhancements of heavy equipment.

Cleaning and lubricating heavy equipment and performing other routine maintenance work on machinery.

Keeping detailed records of serviced machines and reporting progress and issues to management.

The following is required for this role:

A High School Diploma or equivalent is essential.

Valid Drivers' License

Certification as a heavy equipment mechanic.

One to three years proven work experience as a diesel or heavy equipment mechanic.

Understanding of computer testing technologies and extensive knowledge of diesel engines and heavy equipment.

Ability to lift heavy machinery not to exceed 50 pounds.

Strong understanding of electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems is necessary for advanced repair tasks.

The following is preferred for this role:

Professional Certifications such as ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) Certification are highly regarded.
