Description We are looking for an Assistant Controller to join our team in Leesburg, Florida. The chosen candidate will be a critical part of our engineering firm, leveraging their knowledge of construction accounting and financial operations. This role is a key opportunity for someone with a CPA designation and a strong background in construction accounting.Responsibilities: Assist in the preparation of timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP Collaborate with the Controller to analyze financial data and provide insights to support decision-making Apply in-depth knowledge of construction accounting principles to manage project accounting, including job costing, revenue recognition, and WIP analysis Work closely with project managers to ensure accurate and timely project financial reporting Contribute to the development and monitoring of annual budgets Support the Controller in preparing financial forecasts and variance analyses Assist in maintaining and improving internal controls to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information Stay updated with changes in accounting standards and ensure compliance with relevant regulations Serve as a key contact for external auditors during annual audits Prepare necessary documentation and schedules for audit purposes Collaborate with other departments, including operations and procurement, to gather and analyze financial data Provide guidance and support to accounting staffFor immediate consideration regarding the Assistant Controller position, please send your resume to Mitch Anderson, AVP and Practice Director. You can also call (407) 214-8427.Requirements Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in an accounting or finance role Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is required Expertise in Construction Accounting is crucial Proficiency in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required Proven leadership skills and ability to manage a team Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines High attention to detail and accuracy in preparing financial reports Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws regarding company financial regulations.
