The location for this opportunity is Melbourne, Florida and will be primarily based within our office spaces to support program and business needs. Operating on our 9/80 schedule meaning you will get every Friday off. Bring your bold new ideas, and pioneering spirit to our team to invent the future and have some fun along the way.We are looking for a candidate to be the Solution Train Engineer and lead the DevOps team supporting Apex. This is a vital position to the program in support of critical software design and development. Candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining the software development ecosystem and software pipeline. Candidate will work the Program Software IPT lead and develop approaches to solutions supporting the program needs. The STE will be responsible for created the developer experience - designing a SW factory that gives the developer instant feedback on changes made to the baseline software. Candidate will act as a liaison from time to time with frequent inter-organizational and outside customer contacts. This is a section manager position that requires 80% technical and 20% functional time split. It is a hands-on position to establish the SW factory and supporting tools.The Candidate shall be willing to travel to other sites to support TIMs, integration efforts, and other software related tasking. The Candidate shall also be willing to adjust work schedule to meet the needs of across the nation as required.Essential Functions:

Provide technical solutions to a wide range of complex difficult problems that are imaginative, thorough, practicable, and consistent with programs objectives.

In depth understanding and wide application of technical principle, theories, and concepts in the field listed under the basic qualifications.

Design, develop, document, test and debug software development environments and software pipelines.

Conduct multidisciplinary research when needed and collaborates with engineers and/or vendors in the planning, design, development, and utilization of DevOps systems for software production.

Follows and ensures standards are met.

Support the product team lead.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in a STEM Discipline (Math, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) with 14 years' relevant experience; OR Master's Degree in a STEM Discipline (Math, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) with 12 years' experience.

Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and/or other cloud orchestration technologies.

Experience with CI/CD best practices, automated builds and tests, quality gates, software quality, and CI tools, i.e., Jenkins.

Programming and scripting experience in a UNIX environment (C, Perl, Python, Bash, Ruby, Shell, Scripts).

SAF Practice Consultant (SPC) Certification

Experience working on a large SAFe solution

Active In Scope DOD Secret clearance.

Ability to obtain Special Program Access within a reasonable amount of time.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience as an agile coach.

Master's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, or other related field with 7+ years' experience.

Experience coordinating and delivering solutions across a large value stream

Ability to communicate and coordinate with program and business stakeholders and suppliers.

Familiarity with branching strategies, gated commits, source-controlled management

Familiarity with security coding standard best practices, static and dynamic scanning tools, i.e., SonarQube, Fortify, Coverity, etc.

Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.

Experience with Atlassian tools.

Prior experience in the role of RTE (SAFe Release Train Engineer)

Programming and scripting experience in a Windows environment

Able to collaborate in a team environment.

Able to work independently and identify solutions to complex problems.

Able to perform work in an approved environment during specified work hours.

Experience in US Government Working Groups and/or Consortiums.

Preference to work in software/hardware integration and rapid prototyping.

Experience with project planning and management.

Salary Range: $142,500 - $213,700The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
