Mechanical Engineer Job Summary:
Designs, develops, and tests all aspects of mechanical components necessary for the production of a Motor Coach. Applies knowledge of engineering principles to design products such as chassis and body systems as well as integration of third party products such as engines, transmissions, suspension components, instruments and controls. May be involved in fabrication, application, installation, and/or repair of products. Will work closely with clients to develop and manage individual coach projects as they move through production.
Duties:
Design and analysis of vehicle chassis systems and components.
Design and analysis of vehicle body systems and components.
Design and integrate third part components into the product.
Creation of documentation including prints, assemblies, parts lists and assembly instructions.
Specification of components to be used in vehicle.
Works with cross functional team members to perform root-cause analysis on various issues.
Will be responsible for managing R&D projects
Will interact with the clients to develop specifications for their coaches and manage the project as it moved through production.
Skills/Qualifications:
Bachelors degree (preferred)
2-5 years experience in motorcoach or large vehicle manufacturing and design preferred.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects from concept to implementation.
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office, Inventor, Fusion360, AutoCAD
Knowledge of regulations related to the production of an on-road vehicle.
