Kitchen Manager/Chef-Part Time

Private not-for-profit members club near Pineapple Grove in Delray Beach has an opening for a part-time kitchen manager/chef in our large commercial kitchen. Hours are Wednesday and Friday nights, 5:00pm - 9:00pm.

This position oversees the kitchen operations, which includes food preparation, inventory management, and food quality control. Also responsible for ensuring the kitchen meets health and safety standards and proper food handling and storage regulations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Orders and manages inventory so that all necessary ingredients are in stock.

2. Streamlines the kitchen processes to maintain prompt service times.

3. Develops and maintains the menu.

4. Prepares food from the established menu and cleans kitchen prior to shift ending.

5. Sets regular cleaning standards for the kitchen and verifies that sanitation levels are maintained.

6. Tracks kitchen finances to identify areas of potential waste.

7. Ensures compliance with food health and safety regulations.

8. Maintains kitchen inventory.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Minimum two years line cook or sous chef experience.

2. Must be ServeSafe certified or have the ability to be certified upon hire.

3. Knowledge of state and local health and safety food regulations.

4. Previous experience managing inventory and ordering supplies.

5. Familiar with the use and maintenance of kitchen equipment and appliances.

6. Ability to plan menus and order materials and ingredients accordingly.

7. Familiar with a wide variety of recipes.

8. Great organizational skills.

9. Ability to stand for 4-6 hours.

10. Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
