The Home Health Aide (HHA) or CNA provides direct personal care and supportive services to clients in their homes under the supervision of a licensed nurse and in accordance with the client’s care plan. The HHA helps clients maintain safety, independence, and quality of life while promoting dignity and respect.
Key Responsibilities
Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility.
Provide companionship and emotional support to clients.
Assist with light housekeeping tasks such as laundry, meal preparation, and maintaining a safe environment.
Monitor and report changes in client condition to supervising nurse or case manager.
Follow the client’s individualized care plan and registry policies.
Assist with self-administered medications as permitted by Florida regulations.
Support clients with transfers, ambulation, and safe use of assistive devices.
Document care provided and maintain accurate daily activity logs or timesheets.
Comply with all infection control, safety, and confidentiality standards.
Provide respite care for families when needed.
