Description
A Pest Control Technician is responsible for inspecting buildings and properties to identify and exterminate pests such as insects, rodents, and termites. They use various tools and techniques to control and prevent infestations, ensuring the safety and well-being of clients and their surroundings. The ideal candidate for this role is detail-oriented, knowledgeable about pest control methods, and able to work independently.
Responsibilities
Perform inspections of buildings and premises to identify pest infestations
Determine the type of pest and extent of infestation
Develop and implement effective pest control solutions
Apply pesticides and other chemicals safely and effectively
Trap, bait, and remove pests from infested areas
Seal off entry points to prevent pests from entering
Advise clients on how to prevent future infestations and maintain a pest-free environment
Requirements
High school diploma or GED equivalent
Valid pest control license or certification
Proven experience as a pest control technician
Strong knowledge of pest control methods and equipment
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
Good communication and customer service skills, with the ability to explain pest control methods to clients effectively
Physically fit and able to stand, walk, and climb for extended periods
Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings
Valid driver's license and clean driving record
