Responsible for the enforcement of Marion County BCC animal codes, which includes restraint, capture, and incarceration of stray, diseased, dangerous, and vicious animals. Responsibilities include the preliminary investigation of animal cruelty and dangerous dog complaints.
ACO I - HS Diploma/GED, FACA ACO Certificate within one year of hire, mandatory county training classes, one (1) year experience in Animal Control/Care
ACO II - HS Diploma/GED, FACA ACO certificate, FACA Euthanasia Certificate, FACA Chemical Capture certificate, mandatory county classes, one (1) year experience as ACO.
ACO III - HS Diploma/GED, FACA ACO certificate, FACA Euthanasia Certificate, FACA Chemical Capture certificate, mandatory county classes, one (5) years' experience as ACO.
