General Description The Route Manager will manage and direct the day to day operations of the Trucking business for Mid-Florida Materials Truck Division. Will work with Operations Manager to implement operation strategies and objectives to ensure the achievement of the department goalsKey Duties
Oversee all trucking operations within the company. Plan, organize, direct and control operations activities.
Assist with hiring, training, developing and motivating employees toward accomplishing company goals.
Conduct daily JSA Meetings with Staff prior to start of the workday
Coordinate daily operational equipment needs with maintenance department.
Ensure that all vehicles, and equipment in trucking operations remain in safe and efficient operating conditions, as well as kept in a clean, presentable condition.
Support and enforce all company safety program. Cooperate with the company Safety Manager and continually ensure that all company operations and activities are performed in a consistently safe manner.
Conduct Field Observations
Conduct Accident investigations
Review employee timecards daily
Ensure that all company operations are in strict compliance with county, state, and federal regulations pertaining to the environment.
Adhere to all Federal Motor Carrier safety regulations and ensure that all company operations follow all related state and federal regulations
Other duties as assigned.
Qualification Requirements

Education and Experience. This position typically is not an entry-level job, as it requires demonstrable previous experience as a Route Manager. A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is preferred. Must be able to understand work directions and communicate effectively with job site supervisors and fellow employees. Must have a minimum of four years in the industry. FDOT experience is a must. Valid Florida Driver’s License and satisfactory driving record required.
Physical Demands . The following physical demands are representative of those that must be met by a Route Manager to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
Regularly required to sit and/or stand during a regular work shift of at least eight hours per day.
Employee is occasionally required to stoop, bend, walk, crouch, and climb
Ability to lift at least 50 pounds individually and up to 90 pounds with assistance.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Continuous mental attention required to complete tasks in an efficient manner.
Exposure to dust, dirt grease and noise.
Frequently walk on uneven surfaces, including natural ground and slopes in varying weather conditions.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule, based on project need(s) and demand(s).
Work Environment. The work environment characteristics described below are representative of those that a Route Manager encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions.
Work environment periodically exposes the employees to high levels of noise, grease, and dust that is typically associated with a construction site.
Employee regularly works near heavy equipment and moving machinery.
Work may involve a variety of substances commonly found on a construction site such as form oil, grease, curing compounds, gasoline, diesel fuel and asphalt.
