Job Description
Position: Painter
Location: Fort Walton Beach, FL
Reports to: Director of Engineering
Status: Non-Exempt
Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled painter to paint the interior and exterior of the resort structure and building and other surfaces. The job is important since good painting has both practical and aesthetic benefits. The painter should be knowledgeable in selecting the right material for their job. The ideal candidate must have experience in painting with various tools and in various heights and spaces while observing all safety measures. He/she must be reliable and possess great attention to detail in completing their duties.

Essential Functions
Read blueprints/instructions and examine surfaces to determine the amount of work necessary
Make on-site preparations such as building scaffolding, covering fixtures etc.
Fill cracks and holes with appropriate material (e.g. plaster)
Mix paint and other materials to prepare the right color or texture
Paint surfaces according to instructions with various tools
Apply varnish and other finishes
Calculate costs and negotiate prices
Take and adhere to all health and safety precautions
Hotel Performance
Ensure successful performance by assisting guests to receive an exceptional experience
Qualification Standards
Education & Experience
Must have a high school diploma or trade school equivalent
Must have reliable transportation
Must have 2-5 years resort or commercial related experience in painting
Physical Demands
Ability to stand for extended periods of time
Ability to walk and bend
Must be able to carry up to 50 pounds
Must be able to climb and work in a hot climate
Corrected vision to normal range
Ability to communicate clearly
Willing to work flexible hours (i.e. weekends, evenings, and holidays)
