Overview
We are seeking a detail oriented and skilled Millwork Drafter/ CAD draftsman and programmer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have experience translating conceptual designs / architectural drawings into detailed technical shop drawings and programming for fabrication and installation. This position offers an opportunity to work on diverse and exciting projects, contributing to our reputation for excellence in custom millwork.
Responsibilities:
Create accurate CAD drawings from hand sketches created by engineers and architects, and verbal instructions
Create plans using computer-aided design and drafting AutoCAD and Bluebeam software
Specify dimensions, materials, and procedures as needed
Identify potential operational issues and redesign products to improve functionality and communicate potential design problems to the rest of the team
Ensure final designs comply with AWI regulations and quality standards
Calculate dimensions, and requirements in materials
Seamlessly integrate and work with project managers, to produce and alter shop drawings and incorporate knowledge gained into drawings.
Thinking creatively and critically to support the project team in the programming process
Create and continually updating project drawings programming lists
Printing various formats of drawing sets for project managers and site superintendents
Systematically saving sketches and drawings on our server; keeping the server organized; updating project folders and files as jobs progress and revisions are made
Revise computer-aided designs and plans to comply with modified specifications made during actual construction
Organizing and uploading drawings to web-based storage sites/collaboration project sites to share drawings with others
Identify potential quality, material savings, and design cost issues and provide input
Operate all necessary software including AutoCAD, Cut Rite, Bluebeam, Excel, Word, Outlook, (Microsoft 365) etc.
Must read and respond to email daily
Qualifications:
Proven experience in cabinetry design and programming, preferably in a millwork environment.
Able to read and interpret engineering/architectural drawings and specifications
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Bluebeam drafting experience
High level math with an analytical mindset
Effective verbal and listening communications skills
Time management skills, excellent organizational skills including the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Non-Requirements but a plus:
Experience in Millwork/Cabinetmaking & 3D Rendering/Modeling
Experience working in the millwork industry preferred.
Previous Cut-Right programming experience or similar software
Working knowledge of Stiles Machinery and software programming
WoodWOP software
RouterCAD
Basic working knowledge of computer networking
Various CNC machinery and programming
AWI (Architectural Woodwork Institute) Standards
Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus but not required
This is an in-office position. Not remote. Not hybrid
