Every day is a chance to learn something new and turn vacation inspiration into exceptional experiences for millions of travelers worldwide.Job SummaryThe BU Training Director is responsible for directing and overseeing the delivery of Sales training for the assigned Regional Business Unit. Identifies training needs and priorities and oversees the implementation and ongoing delivery of core and initiative driven programs. Supervises the region’s training staff and performs evaluation of the impact of training on service quality and sales performance.Essential Job ResponsibilitiesBeginning with the most important, or in a logical sequence, describe 5 to 7 major responsibilities of this job. Provide detail as necessary to give an accurate, complete outline. Indicate the percentage of total working time spent on each essential responsibility. The total should equal 100%.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Oversee the implementation and ongoing delivery of core and initiative driven programs, conducting training when needed. These will include but are not limited to: “Play to Win”, “Road to Success”, iPad training, WVO Sales Compliance, and product training and updates as necessary. (30%) Performs evaluation of the impact of training on the region’s service quality and sales performance, assessing site by site as needed. (20%) Ensure optimal training effectiveness by building a competent, motivated regional training team through hiring, training, development, counseling, and reviewing performance in the areas of training delivery, training effectiveness, product expertise, and sales performance and closing skills. (20%) Collaborate with regional senior level management to determine the strategic direction and training goals or priorities that support growth in alignment with the business unit’s objectives. (10 %) Partner with regional site leadership and recruiting to ensure that effective on-boarding processes are adhered to and that appropriate follow up and assessment of new hires is performed at the 30/60/90-day mark. Partner with recruiting on Redline reporting needs to evaluate the performance of new hires and ensure and maintain adequate staffing levels. (10%) Partner with regional site leadership to ensure that compliant sales practices and approved collateral are in use at all sites. (5%) Ensure that all regional trainers are contributing to site performance by achieving required VPG measures and supporting closing activity on the sales floor. (5%)Travel RequirementsThis role requires 50% travel throughout the Business Unit as well as occasional travel to other parts of the United States.Minimum Requirements and QualificationsState the specific levels of the following that are needed to perform the minimum duties of the job.Education

Bachelor’s Degree or similar work experience, preferred.

Knowledge and skills

Ability to design and deliver training to diverse groups of staff. Knowledge of adult learning principles, and ability to instruct classroom modules utilizing a variety of design and media techniques.

Ability to communicate clearly and professionally verbally, one on one and in group presentations.

Must possess effective writing and listening skills.

Ability to use appropriate interpersonal styles and methods to reduce tension or conflict, relate positively to people in stressful situations, and remain calm under pressure.

Ability to address multiple demands and adjust style and approach to suit situations that involve rapidly changing tasks, shifting priorities, simultaneous demands, or transitions into new assignments.

Able to make timely and sound decisions, understanding the impact and implications and providing feedback on outcomes.

Willing to take extra measures and independent action to solve problems and get work done when the situation calls for it while holding self and others accountable.

Skill in working as part of a team, collaborating with colleagues, establishing rapport and gaining the trust of others.

Technical Skills

Must have a working knowledge of computers and software systems including Microsoft Office products and the Internet.

Job experience

Proven track record with Wyndham sales and ability to T. O. tables for both Front lines, in house and specialist presentation experience preferred.

Proven leadership track record. This can include any of but not limited to, site trainer role, front line or in house sales manager, training manager, Sr. Manager, DOS or VP positions.

Strong working knowledge of WVR, WorldMark by Wyndham and Shell Vacation Club

Must meet or exceed budgeted sales goals related to training.

Experience equivalent to the education requirement may be accepted in lieu of the education requirement.ComplexityDescribe the following:Level of decision making authority

Regularly interacts with executives, subordinates and/or customers. Interactions frequently involve special skills, such as negotiating with customers or management or attempting to influence senior level leaders regarding matters of significance to the organization.

Level of autonomy

Directs and controls the activities of the regional training team through several site managers within the business unit. Has overall control of planning, staffing, budgeting, managing expense priorities, and recommending and implementing changes to methods.

Impact of incumbent’s decisions on the organization

Erroneous decisions will have a serious impact on the overall success of functional, division, or business unit operations.

Supervisory Responsibility:

Oversees a training team of Training Managers and Trainers. Number of managers and trainers may vary by size of the overall business unit.

Scope/Financial Responsibility

Must meet or exceed budgeted sales goals related to training. Works within the parameters of the budget.
