Bernhard’s vision is to be the leading EaaS provider in North America through the delivery of excellent, high-value service and innovative solutions for our clients.Purpose and Essential Duties The Install Service Technician III - HVAC is responsible for conducting the installation of HVAC & refrigeration systems.Specific responsibilities include:

Ability to lead a crew on a project involving a crane.

Installation or replacement of a boiler, rooftop unit, unit heater, WSHP, EF, AHU, etc.

Start up and commission for all DX Equipment, Chilled Water AHUs, VFDs, FCUs, Packaged Unit including VRF and DOAS Units, Cooling Towers and Pumps, Boilers, Hot Water Heaters.

Understanding of final product elevation drawings and installation techniques.

Uses a mechanical drawing to create a shop drawing showing the plan and elevation views.

Understanding of equipment submittals and their usage.

Accurately identifies and sketches components of an HVAC & refrigeration system.

Promotes and performs all aspects of Bernhard’s safety procedures and policies.

This position is Full-Time, Non-Exempt, and reports to the Service Manager, Project Manager, or Business Unit Manager.Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications

Experience in pipefitting.

Experience in minor ductwork making transitions to HVAC equipment.

Startup & Commissioning experience.

Crane signaling and rigging experience.

Working knowledge of a VRF system.

Working knowledge of a chiller, cooling tower, and pumps.

Working knowledge of DDC system operations.

Working knowledge of a VFD and its function.

Must be able and willing to follow job-site instructions.

Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.

Versed in the industry and the Company’s competitors.

Ability to multitask and perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary.

Preferred Education, Experience, and Qualifications

Current Licensed Technician or verifiable experience in service of commercial HVAC systems.

Holds an EPA Certification.

Travel Requirements

0-5% of time will be spent traveling to job site(s)/office location.

Physical/Work Environment Requirements

Ascending and descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, and/or poles.

Climbing stairs.

Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.

Remaining in a stationary position, often kneeling, standing or sitting for prolonged periods.

Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.

Operating machinery and/or power tools.

Low indoor temperature.

High indoor temperature.

Outdoor elements such as precipitation, heat, cold, and/or wind.

Noisy environment.

Medium work that includes adjusting and/or moving objects up to 50 pounds.
