Maintenance Planner

This position is responsible for maximizing work force productivity and work quality by anticipating and eliminating potential delays through planning and coordination of work order labor, parts and material, permits, equipment, and area access. The Maintenance Planner will also coordinate with the Maintenance Supervisors on work order scheduling to minimize impacts to hospital operations. They will assist the Engineering Manager and Engineering Director in short-range and long-range planning and other duties as assigned.Monitor all incoming work orders and coordinate with the requesters to ensure accuracy and completeness. Plan each work order to ensure the technicians have the appropriate time, tools, parts, permits, and area access to complete the work orders. Initiate, coordinate and supervise contractor/vendor repair activities. Respond to all inquiries regarding maintenance, repairs and other department activities. Perform assigned corrective maintenance tasks as required. Ensure availability of spare parts, tools and equipment, working closely with the Logistics Manager. Make frequent rounds of the buildings and grounds to identify maintenance repair opportunities. Advise Manager and Facilities Director of all equipment breakdowns or failures and major building repair needs. Provide effective feedback and maintain open communication with all maintenance personnel on performance of planed tasks, while not directly supervising tasks, to improve planning accuracy. Identify equipment failure trends and report them to the engineering department for root cause analysis. Provide maintenance work order KPI tracking, failure trending management, and ensure that all maintenance activities are effectively planned. Performs other duties as assigned.QualificationsREQUIRED: High school diploma or equivalent.
