Job Title: Medical Assistant Floater Job DescriptionThis is a Medical Assistant Floater position for the East-Orlando Region. The MA Floater will primarily be floating within the specified offices but may also be required to cover in locations outside of the listed offices. The candidate must be flexible, dedicated, and professional. The role supports clinicians and care management teams in assessing and maintaining chronic disease management. This floating employee will work in various offices to support either the MA role or dedicated Lab station.Responsibilities
Perform quality team-based patient care under the direct supervision of a clinician for both clinical and administrative functions to promote health and wellness in a safe and friendly environment.
Performing all laboratory testing procedures and phlebotomy, including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks. P
Performs laboratory testing procedures.
Reports laboratory results to a healthcare clinician. Alerts the healthcare clinician of any critical or out-of-range values and documents critical reports.
Performs phlebotomy, including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks.
Prepares specimens for reference lab send-outs, including labeling, resulting, and billing information.
Performs and documents daily/weekly/monthly quality control, including instrument maintenance.
Perform and document the patient’s intake vitals including but are limited to height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rate; repeat and notify the clinician of any abnormal findings.
Interview patient based on age appropriateness and/or specialty needs with accurate documentation and update medical records to include chief complaint, current medications with drug name, dosing, route, medication and food allergies with reaction and severity, vaccine, medical, surgical, family, social histories, any barriers to care and home status.
Requirements
Phlebotomy
MA Diploma / Certification required OR a minimum of 3 years MA experience
Active BLS certification
Active & valid driver's license
