DescriptionPerforms Systems Engineering activities related to Engineering including: concept of operations formulation, requirements definition, analysis and engineering, system architecting, system analysis and design, interface and data architectures, validation and verification, systems integration, system op. performance analysis, Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies. Provides specific, detailed information for selection, implementation techniques, and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, Managers set the specific duties and responsibilities for each employee). Applies extensive technical expertise and has full knowledge of other related disciplines. Receives assignments in the form of objectives and establishes goals to meet objectives. Work is reviewed and measured based on meeting objectives and schedules. Develops technical solutions to complex problems, which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity. Work may be performed without appreciable direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment. Completed work is reviewed from a relatively long-term perspective for desired results. Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Guides the successful completion of major tasks. Interacts with senior external personnel on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations.SPECIFIC JOB DESCRIPTION: Modify and use aerospace simulation tools involving missile engagements in 3-DOF and 6-DOF. Familiarity with basic missile simulation systems including aerodynamic coefficients, mass and propulsion properties, seekers, divert systems and performance. Some familiarity with radar systems and general missile defense constructs. Must be able to work collaboratively with a small team to generate technical approach to problems, execute approach, and document results and create presentations to be delivered for customers.QualificationsBasic aerospace engineering is required. Some software knowledge is essential. Some expertise in at least one of the following languages, C, C, FORTRAN, Python, etc. Experience with MS Office, excel, power point is helpful. At least a B.S. in a Engineering or Physics is required. Some experience with aerodynamics and missile system simulation is required. US Citizenship with an active DOD secret ClearanceCovid Policy: SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters. Customer site vaccination requirements must be followed when work is performed at a customer site.
