that partners with other Veterans Health Administration (VHA)
program offices to provide quality workforce education and training
to improve outcomes in Veteran clinical care, health care operations
and administration.Learn more about this agencyResponsibilitiesThis position involves a multi-grade career ladder. The major duties
listed represent the full performance level of GS-9. At the GS-7
grade level, you will perform assignments of a more limited scope
and with less independence. You will progressively acquire the
background necessary to perform at the full performance level.
Promotion is at the discretion of the supervisor and is contingent
upon satisfactory performance, availability of higher-level work,
and availability of funds. Promotion is not guaranteed and no
promise of promotion is implied.Duties will include:
Plan, develop, and coordinate a variety of clinical simulation
programs, venues, and educational projects
Assist students and faculty with simulation work and assist
faculty in preparation for all SimLEARN Center training
experiences
Assist with training faculty in the use of clinical simulation
equipment
Serve as a resource for faculty utilizing simulation
Participate in developing, organizing and conducting educational
courses or events that use clinical simulation technologies
Coordinate data collection for research studies including
documenting information, collating and assisting in analysis of
data
Work with the Simulation Specialist to conduct clinical
simulation training and education in state of the art simulation
environments
Support/assist in role playing applications, props placement,
and Moulage set-up to create a virtual healthcare setting
Prepare and maintain clinical simulation equipment, media,
computers, and materials related to simulation learning and the
SimLEARN Center

Specialized Experience: 1 year of Specialized Experience that
equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and
abilities (KSA's) to perform successfully the duties of Training
Specialist, and that is typically in or related to the position. To
be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to
at least GS-5 grade level.Examples of Specialized experience are: Experience assisting in
the coordination and instruction of a training program designed to
provide clinical simulation skills to a variety of healthcare
personnel and staff; knowledge of clinical simulation education
principles and practices; assisted in gathering and developing
research information for others to use in providing simulation
training consultation to faculty, professionals, etc.; experience
assisting with a variety of educational courses or events; and
experience performing data collection and analysis.OREducation: Successfully completed 1 full year of graduate level
education or achieved superior academic achievement. Major study -
education or a subject area related to the position to be filled.
Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities
necessary to do the work. (TRANSCRIPTS REQUIRED)
Superior Academic Achievement is based on (1) class standing, (2)
grade-point average, or (3) honor society membership.
1. Class standing Applicants must be in the upper third of the
graduating class in the college, university, or major subdivision,
such as the College of Liberal Arts or the School of Business

2. Grade-point average (G.P.A.) Applicants must have a
grade-point average of:
1. 3.0 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B" or better) as
recorded on their official transcript, or as computed based on 4

successfully completed graduate education and specialized experience

Knowledge and skills represented by clinical practice in a
health care setting. Clinical practices as a fully qualified
provider (Emergency Medical Technician/Basic, Paramedic,
