The Arborist provides horticulture support for the Global team. This craft helps to ensure the ‘Guest Facing’ horticulture is up to the Walt Disney World standard. The Arborist applicant should have experience in tree production, tree care, tree pruning, and tree moving. The field service position may include work from elevated platforms and confined spaces throughout the Walt Disney World Parks and Resort property.Starting pay rate for this role is $23.76 per hourLIMITED TIME $1,000 HIRING BONUS ONLY AVAILABLE UNTIL December 30, 2023$1,500 Hiring Bonus (First payment after 90 days = $375 and Second payment after 150 days = $1,125)To be eligible for the sign-on bonus, cast members must be in the position continuously for at least 90 days after hire and be employed by The Walt Disney Company at time of payment. A cast member is hired after the successful completion of Disney Traditions or one full day of employment. To be eligible for an incentive bonus after 150 days, cast members must remain employed in the position continuously for at least 150 days and be employed by The Walt Disney Company at the time of payment. Payments will be made approximately two weeks after the 90 and 150-day milestones, respectively. Bonus payments are subject to applicable taxes and other legal withholding. Disputes concerning eligibility to a bonus payment shall be resolved by Walt Disney World Recruitment in its sole and absolute discretion. The incentives offered herein are subject to change at any time, with or without notice. Cast Members hired prior to October 1, 2023 or after December 30, 2023 will not be eligible for an incentive award. If a Cast Member who was not eligible for an incentive award due to hire date, classification or work status terminates and rehires within 45 days into an incentive eligible role during the incentive period will not be eligible for an award.Responsibilities :
Perform scheduled routine arboriculture maintenance
Operate Forklifts, Lull, box truck, ladder work, work at heights
Climb trees using a rope and saddle
Operate tools and equipment to include chainsaws, chippers and aerial work platforms (AWP) and bucket trucks
Cast members may be required to handle cleaning chemicals and supplies
Additional Personal Protective Equipment (face shields, goggles, refillable hand sanitizers, etc.) may be required
Basic Qualifications :
Minimum of 3 years experience within Horticulture or Agriculture disciplines
Able to meet requirements for climbing aerial rescue guidelines
Familiar with industry safety standards (ANSI Z133) and procedures (ANSI 300)
Knowledge of southern tree species
Able to lift, push or pull up to 50lbs
Valid CDL Class “A” with air brakes endorsement
3rd shift role
Preferred Qualifications:
ISA certification
Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
Team player
Proficiency in standard office software programs and mobile electronic devices
Proficiency in all aspects of
tree transplanting and loading
tree pruning including natural and geometric styles
proper tree planting
